How we spent our summer vacation, part 1

Hanging out at the amazing Stewart Park Festival in Perth, listening to: Suzie Vinnick and The Marigolds

And David Celia, and Lynn Miles...

And Wendell Ferguson, and Australian David Ross MacDonald (joining us this October!!!!) and Cork, Ireland's Annette Buckley (playing the Black Sheep Sunday, July 26 and well worth the teensy cover charge)

And Donné Roberts, who tore up the floor with his Malagasy songs:

More summer BobCat stuff:
  • Bad news: Rasputin's had a nasty fire.
  • Good news: people are stepping up to help out performers, us included. We will be hosting Kit Soden and Eric John on August 30. More details to come.

  • Good news: Ray Davies was at Bluesfest. Wow. And better news: the Folk Fest is coming, with an amazing lineup including Sarah Harmer, the Duhks, Odetta, Country Joe MacDonald, Broken Social Scene, the Sadies, the Carolina Chocolate Drops, and too many more to list here. GO.
  • More good news: We have amazing concerts coming this fall. But that's for another post.
