Summer BobCat: Amy Campbell CD release show August 18

If anyone could rouse us from summer doldrums, it would have to be our pal Amy Campbell. She's coming back to BobCat to do her second Ottawa release show here, and we couldn't be more excited to make it a first-ever summer show for us, and a first-ever (weather permitting) OUTDOOR SHOW! WOO!

Letters Home is Amy's first CD since 2008's Oh Heart Oh Highway, and I can tell you that it's a cracker of a record.

Amy's bio says that she "brings together classical training and folk sensibilities to create music that reaches into human experience and comes back with stories written from the soul. Devoted equally to lyrical craft, innovative musicianship, and engaging performances, Amy’s dozen years of writing, composing, and touring have cemented her position in hearts and playlists across the world... [with]  signature rhythmic guitar compositions and thought-provoking, heart-rending lyrics."

I say that Amy is a wonderfully evocative singer, guitarist, and writer, and if you aren't moved by her music you need a soul transplant. (And she's one of our favorite people in the world too, so forgive the bias.)
